Ex-Igbinedion Student Reveals Extreme Bullying, Torture and Lasting Trauma

Ollachi Holman, a former Igbinedion Secondary School student, describes the brutal bullying and violence she and her classmates endured. She says some peers attempted suicide, while others joined cults for protection. She recalls teachers ignoring male students who flogged and slapped girls in broad daylight. When armed robbers broke into the girls’ hostel, the school locked students in dorms and refused to alert parents. Ollachi links lifelong trauma, drug addiction and even her brother’s death to the school’s abuse. She urges all former students, including ex-bullies, to speak out and hold the Igbinedion Education Centre accountable.
