The district was recognised for its mix of historic character, late-night outdoor dining, independent shops and lively food scene. L’Ocean District in Rabat, Morocco, ranked second, followed by Neos Kosmos in Athens, Greece. Chinatown in Los Angeles was the highest-ranked neighbourhood in the United States at fourth place, while Govanhill in Glasgow came fifth.
