Abia Agency Seals Aba Building After Discovery of Over 100 Bags of Human Waste

The Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA), Aba Zone, has sealed a residential building on Ibadan Street in Aba after officials reportedly found more than 100 bags of human waste in the compound. The inspection, carried out on August 18, also uncovered four basins containing excreta in a corridor and a sewage tank inside a downstairs room beneath a bed reportedly used by occupants. ASEPA said the premises were sealed under a court order because the situation posed a serious public-health risk. The building will remain closed until the required corrective measures are completed. Claims that the waste was being sold to farmers as manure have circulated online, but they have not been independently verified or confirmed by the agency.
