Soludo Recounts Civil War Loss, Calls for Structured Igbo Dialogue
Governor Chukwuma Soludo urged Ndi Igbo to move from agitational politics to measured intellectual engagement at a recent stage play event in Awka. Drawing from his Civil War experience, he shared how his mother died and his father bore a bullet wound for years. He criticized prolonged sit-at-home orders in the South-East for causing hardship. Soludo argued that Igbo prosperity depends on wider engagement with Nigeria and the world rather than isolation. Invoking Nnamdi Azikiwe’s legacy, he praised the politics of negotiation over confrontation. He called for a structured conversation on the Igbo question and pledged support for any group advancing the discourse.
