Okoye Left Out of Super Eagles Squad as Nwabali and Uzoho Return

Maduka Okoye has been left out of Nigeria’s squad for the AFCON 2027 qualifiers against Tanzania. Francis Uzoho, Stanley Nwabali and Arthur Okonkwo have been named instead. Okoye drew criticism after arriving late to camp during the previous international window, following a night out with Cardi B in Italy. Coach Eric Chelle said Okoye had permission to arrive late because of club commitments and that he would manage the situation. The reason for Okoye’s omission has not been confirmed. Neither he nor Cardi B has confirmed reports that they are romantically involved.
