Meet Charlotte Muritala, the 9-Year-Old Kwara Student Teaching Maths on TikTok
Charlotte Muritala, a nine-year-old JSS2 student from Ofa, Kwara State, is using TikTok to teach mathematics topics such as algebra, fractions, cross multiplication and LCM. She began developing an interest in mathematics at about age five. In her lessons, she uses a whiteboard to explain questions step by step rather than simply giving answers. Charlotte says mathematics is fun and encourages pupils who find it difficult to practise daily, learn from mistakes and never give up. Her teacher has called for stronger support, including qualified guidance and scholarships, for gifted children.
