Rio Ferdinand Urges Patience as Pressure Grows on Michael Carrick

1 / 2

Rio Ferdinand says Michael Carrick is facing the usual pressure that comes with managing Manchester United after the club's poor start to the season. United are 13th in the Premier League with two wins from their opening matches. They also lost 2-0 to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. Ferdinand said Carrick should be given time to turn results around, pointing to his strong spell as interim manager last season. United next face Leeds in the league before a Champions League meeting with Como.
