Otti Orders Harmonisation of ABSUTH Workers’ 2023 and 2025 Salary Structures
Abia State Governor Alex Otti has directed the immediate harmonisation of the 2023 and 2025 Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) for staff of the Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Aba. The governor said the move is part of efforts to improve healthcare workers’ welfare and strengthen service delivery. He added that the state’s health-sector investment, including a 15 per cent annual budget allocation, is aimed at providing affordable and quality healthcare for residents. Otti also said the administration has restored lost accreditations at ABSUTH and recovered facilities previously concessioned to private operators. Health ministry officials and the hospital’s management have been asked to submit recommendations on the harmonised salary structure.
