PTAD Clears ₦18.96 Billion PHCN Pension Arrears for 3,958 Retirees

The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate has completed payment of ₦18.96 billion in Back-End Computation arrears to 3,958 eligible retirees of the former Power Holding Company of Nigeria under the Defined Benefit Pension Scheme. The final payment of ₦9.476 billion settles the remaining 50% balance after an earlier ₦9.482 billion payment made in June 2026. The two disbursements total ₦18,958,199,952.27. PTAD said the payment fully clears the arrears owed to the affected PHCN pensioners. The agency added that it will continue efforts to resolve outstanding pension obligations and ensure eligible retirees receive their entitlements.
