Amusan, Ajayi Lead Nigeria’s Nine-Athlete Squad to World Athletics Ultimate Championships
Nine Nigerian athletes will compete at the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championships in Budapest, Hungary, from September 11 to 13. Tobi Amusan leads the team in the women’s 100m hurdles, where she faces Devynne Charlton, Danielle Williams, Alia Armstrong and Keni Harrison for a place in the final. Kayinsola Ajayi will contest the men’s 100m against Kenny Bednarek, Emmanuel Eseme, Akani Simbine and Lamont Marcell Jacobs. Nigeria will also field a mixed 4x100m relay team, with a season’s best of 40.24 seconds. Ella Onojuvwevwo will run in the women’s 400m, while Udodi Onwuzurike competes in the men’s 200m and Ezekiel Nathaniel features in the men’s 400m hurdles. Team Nigeria will be aiming for final places and podium finishes against some of the world’s top athletes.
