US Hits Iranian Air Defenses After Apache Helicopter Downed

The US launched fresh strikes on Iran’s air defense and radar sites around the Strait of Hormuz. The operation came after an Iranian-made drone shot down a US Apache helicopter off Oman’s coast. President Trump described the response as “very strong, very powerful” and said attacks on US military assets would not go unanswered. US Central Command called the strikes self-defence and said they were intended as a warning to Tehran while diplomacy continues. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard then fired missiles and drones at US targets in the region. Iranian state media reported explosions in Sirik, Bandar Abbas and Qeshm Island, and damage to water reservoirs in southern coastal cities.
