Tupac Shakur’s Estate Sues Duane ‘Keefe D’ Davis in Wrongful Death Lawsuit
The family of late rapper Tupac Shakur has filed a wrongful death lawsuit in Los Angeles. The suit names former gang leader Duane “Keefe D” Davis as the main defendant, along with unnamed co-conspirators. Filed by Maurice Shakur as administrator of the estate, the case alleges a “complex conspiracy” to kill Tupac. It seeks to uncover new evidence through discovery. Tupac was shot in a drive-by attack in Las Vegas in September 1996 and died six days later at age 25. Prosecutors say Davis ordered the shooting after a casino altercation and obtained the gun from an associate. Davis was charged in September 2023 and has pleaded not guilty. His trial is scheduled to begin in August. The new suit hopes to identify all those involved in planning, financing, or carrying out the murder.
