Argentina captain Cristian Romero has named Julián Álvarez as his choice to inherit Lionel Messi’s iconic No. 10 shirt after Messi’s international retirement. Romero praised Álvarez as humble, family-oriented and capable of carrying the number. Romero said he would prefer Argentina to retire the shirt and honour Messi with a mural, but accepted that this may not be possible. Álvarez currently wears No. 9 for Argentina and has scored 16 goals in 61 appearances for the national team. Other players, including Como’s Nico Paz, have also been linked with the shirt.
