My Assessment of Peter Obi’s Electoral Prospects in 2027
I believe Peter Obi faces major electoral challenges ahead of the 2027 presidential election. In my view, his support remains limited in parts of the North-East and North-West, where reaching the required 25% threshold could be difficult. I also doubt he has a strong path across much of the South-West beyond Lagos. States such as Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Ekiti may be difficult to win. The North-Central is not certain either, especially in Kwara, Plateau and Niger. Abuja and Rivers could be closely contested, while Cross River, Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom may be influenced by the political choices of their governors. This is my opinion, and I welcome factual, realistic counterarguments.
