Flying Officer Adeshina Dies in Ondo Military Plane Crash Nine Days After Graduation Honour

Flying Officer I. M. Adeshina was among 25 people aboard a Nigerian military aircraft that crashed in Igbokoda, Ondo State, on October 5, 2026. Adeshina had been celebrated only nine days earlier as the best graduating cadet of Branch Commission Course 3. He was commissioned into the Nigerian Air Force as a flying officer on September 26. Photos from the commissioning ceremony showed him receiving a plaque from House of Representatives Speaker Abbas Tajudeen. Rescue teams are continuing operations at the crash site to locate the remaining victims.
