Daniel Bwala Denies Ever Calling Tinubu a Drug Lord Amid Misquotes

Daniel Bwala Denies Ever Calling Tinubu a Drug Lord Amid Misquotes — 1 of 2
1 / 2

I have never in my life called Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu a drug lord, and I never believed such a claim. If anyone presents a video saying otherwise, we can stop this interview and review it together. The misquote about giving Tinubu 30 years to resolve flawed policy is another example of media laziness. I made that remark on 25 December 2023 while critiquing a policy, not targeting any person. Yet it went viral among Obidients on social media. One danger now is that mainstream outlets rely on social media for information. This leads to misquotations and misinformation without proper fact-checking.

Why might Bwala deny ever calling Tinubu a drug lord if video evidence exists?

Is there any chance the footage was edited before it circulated?

I understand your point, but maybe the footage was edited or miscontextualised before it went public.

It's interesting that the misquote about giving Tinubu thirty years to fix policy also surfaced without any original source.

I'm not convinced we should dismiss every misquote so quickly; sometimes context or phrasing changes the meaning entirely.

It might help to review the full interview timestamp by timestamp and compare the transcript with the alleged misquotes directly.
