Kano Deploys 250 Trained Police Officers to Border LGAs After Deadly Attacks
The Kano State Police Command has deployed 250 newly trained officers to border local government areas following recent bandit attacks, kidnappings and other security breaches. Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori announced the deployment at the passing-out ceremony for the second batch of officers who completed a month-long combat and weapons-handling course at the police mobile force bases in Hotoro and Challawa. The officers received training in weapon handling, marksmanship, tactical operations, intelligence-led policing, human rights, firearms use, IED response and community policing. Bakori said they would strengthen security in frontline communities and improve response to distress calls. The deployment follows deadly attacks reported in Rogo, Bebeji and Garun Malam areas, where residents were killed, others injured and several people abducted. Police said one abducted community leader has since been rescued and reunited with his family.
