My Ofada Rice Farm Is at Risk Again After Farm Worker Disappears

I received a troubling call last night: the worker I employed to look after the remaining four acres of my Ofada rice farm has been missing since Saturday. His phone rings and he is active on WhatsApp, but he has not returned to the farm. On Monday morning, he told me everything was going well. I planted the rice in late May. Some sections did not grow well, so I replanted about four acres in early June, and those ones came up properly. About five acres were badly damaged by birds, while I planned to protect two or three of the remaining acres with netting based on advice I received here. The harvested paddy from the affected five acres is still exposed on the farm, and birds have started attacking it too. Now, the remaining four acres are also at risk because the person assigned to watch over them has disappeared. I tried my best to treat him well. I paid a ₦20,000 monthly feeding allowance and provided provisions, tea, milk, soft drinks and other essentials. I have contacted his parents, but this situation has left me exhausted and unsure of what else to do.
