Babajide Promises Super Falcons Will Bounce Back After World Cup Qualification Failure

Super Falcons forward Rinsola Babajide says the team will regroup after a disappointing 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign and their failure to qualify for the Women’s World Cup in Brazil. Nigeria were eliminated in the WAFCON quarter-finals after a 1-0 loss to Cameroon. The Falcons then lost 2-1 to South Africa in the play-in, ending their hopes of reaching the World Cup. Babajide described the result as heartbreaking but thanked supporters and said the squad would reset, reflect and focus on the Olympic qualifiers.
