IPOB Alleges Army Reused 2024 Oyo Bomb Images to Frame Its Members
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Sunday accused the Nigerian government of planting false evidence to demonise the group and justify violence in the South-East. In a statement signed by Media Secretary Emma Powerful, IPOB said the army posted photos of bombs from a 2024 Oyo State incident as proof of an “IPOB bomb factory” in Imo State. The group claims the images were manipulated to inflame anti-Igbo sentiment. IPOB described the alleged scheme as “state-sponsored terrorism” aimed at crushing Biafran self-determination. It linked the plot to political elites collaborating with the APC-led regime. The group called for the release of leader Nnamdi Kanu, an end to military operations in the South-East, and an international probe into human rights abuses.
