Rivers Bus Driver Lured, Killed and Buried in Shallow Grave; Three Suspects Arrested
Rivers State Police have arrested three men in connection with the disappearance and murder of 55-year-old bus driver Christopher Akpabio in Asarama, Andoni LGA. The suspects hired Mr. Akpabio at Garrison Park in Port Harcourt under the pretense of transporting them to a traditional marriage. En route, they ambushed and killed him, buried his body in a shallow grave and stole his black Daihatsu Hijet minibus. Operatives from the Violent Crime Response Unit recovered the vehicle and detained David Mark (30), Nkajit Williams (45) and Godgift John (33). The victim’s remains have been deposited at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital mortuary for further examination. The investigation continues as police search for a fourth suspect. Authorities warn drivers to verify passengers and inform trusted contacts before long trips.
