How Scripture Helps Believers Recognise and Resist Temptation
Temptation is part of human experience, but facing it does not mean a person has failed God. What matters is how we respond when it comes. James 1:14–15 explains that temptation can begin with desire. When a desire is entertained, it may lead to rationalisation, harmful choices and painful consequences. Recognising it early is an important step towards resisting it. Jesus faced temptation in the wilderness, including appeals to hunger, identity, power and ambition. He responded with God’s Word, showing believers the value of Scripture in identifying deception and standing firm.
