LAUTECH Dean Appeals to Nigerians as Wife and Students Enter Fourth Week in Captivity
Prof. Wole Alamu of LAUTECH’s Iseyin campus has urged Nigerians to intensify prayers and support for the safe release of his wife, Rachael Alamu, and other victims abducted in the May 15 attack on Community High School, Ahoro-Esiele, in Oriire LGA, Oyo State. Official figures report 18 primary pupils, seven secondary students and seven teachers still missing, though community leaders warn the total could be as high as 46. Two teachers, including Michael Oyedokun, lost their lives during the raid and in captivity. The dean has called on the governor and security agencies not to relent, saying he refuses to lose hope despite the emotional toll. In a recent video, Mrs. Alamu denied reports of religious demands by the kidnappers, stating they only want certain detainees released. The Nigerian Air Force, police, Amotekun Corps and forest guards have ramped up aerial and ground searches. As the fourth week in captivity begins, families continue to pray and press authorities to maintain rescue efforts.
