Sanwo-Olu Urges Women Leaders to Mentor Young Nigerians at COWLSO Conference

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has urged women in leadership to mentor younger people, create opportunities and help remove barriers that limit women’s ambitions. He spoke at the opening of the 26th National Women’s Conference organised by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials in Victoria Island. The conference is themed “Anchored in Purpose: Be the Blueprint.” Sanwo-Olu said women need practical support such as affordable finance, market access, jobs, healthcare and safer environments. He highlighted state-backed skills, entrepreneurship, education and healthcare programmes, while acknowledging that more work is needed. Lagos First Lady Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu said COWLSO has renovated 50 schools, including 26 special-needs schools, and supported more than 70 licensed orphanages over the past four years.
