NGX Investors Gain ₦1.18tn as 34 Stocks Close Higher
Nigeria’s equities market extended its rally on Thursday, adding ₦1.178 trillion to investors’ wealth. Market capitalisation rose from ₦158.714 trillion to ₦159.892 trillion. The All-Share Index gained 1,523.59 points, or 0.62%, to close at 244,791.79 points. The market’s year-to-date return stood at 58.29%. Thirty-four stocks advanced while 23 declined. Beta Glass, BUA Cement, UPDC REIT and Consolidated Hallmark Holdings each gained 10%, while Transcorp Power led the decliners after falling 9.97%. Trading volume rose to 1.11 billion shares worth ₦46.02 billion across 54,102 deals. Fidelity Bank recorded the highest trading volume and value, accounting for 524.33 million shares worth ₦10.30 billion.
