Kano Recruits 2,037 Health Workers as WHO, UNICEF Back Healthcare Reforms
Kano State has issued appointment letters to 2,037 newly recruited clinical and non-clinical health workers as part of efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery across the state. Representatives of the World Health Organisation and UNICEF said the recruitment would help close critical staffing gaps and improve families’ access to quality care. They urged the government to sustain the investment through strong public-health systems. Health-sector groups also welcomed ongoing upgrades at primary healthcare centres and major secondary hospitals. They said improved facilities and staffing could support specialised services, medical training and residency programmes in Kano.
