Waqf Alleges Israel Has Formally Allowed Jewish Group Prayers at Al-Aqsa

Israeli authorities have reportedly allowed Jewish worshippers to bring prayer books into the Al-Aqsa compound in occupied East Jerusalem and conduct group prayers, according to a source from the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf. The Waqf says the move is an unprecedented breach of the long-standing arrangement under which the compound is administered as an Islamic holy site. The source said previous Jewish prayers were largely informal or individual, while the latest development signals organised worship with official police approval. The report comes amid wider restrictions on Palestinian access to the site and growing calls by far-right Israeli figures for greater Israeli control. The author argues that Israel is determined to build a Third Temple.
