Is a ₦470,000 Gross Monthly Offer From a Foreign MNC Worth Taking?
My friend received an offer from a French multinational company operating in eight countries. He was placed on an officer-level role with a gross monthly salary of about ₦470,000. After deductions and allowances, he estimates his take-home pay at roughly ₦392,000. His expected monthly costs include about ₦130,000 for 100 litres of fuel and ₦85,000 for rent, leaving around ₦177,000 before food, utilities, savings and other expenses. The work hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. I advised him to reject the offer because the pay seems low for a multinational company. What advice would you give him?
