Kano State Secures 2026 Hajj Visas Amid Middle East Tensions
The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has received and printed all Hajj visas for its 2026 pilgrims despite growing concerns over Middle East tensions. Director-General Abubakar Matawalle, speaking from Saudi Arabia, assured intending pilgrims that there are no delays in visa processing. The board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi, urged the public to ignore rumours about visa delays and warned against sharing unverified information that could cause confusion among pilgrims and their families. Officials are already in Saudi Arabia finalizing logistics and welfare arrangements ahead of the pilgrimage. Matawalle also confirmed that the Basic Travel Allowance is being processed and will be disbursed soon. Regional airspace closures have disrupted many airlines, but Saudia continues flights to Saudi Arabia. Kano pilgrims are assured of full support as they prepare for the 2026 Hajj.
