Why Complete Obedience Matters in the Christian Life
Obedience is more than hearing God’s Word, praying, fasting or serving in church. It means putting His instructions into practice. Scripture teaches that delayed or selective obedience is not the same as complete obedience. Fear, self-will, people-pleasing and the desire for comfort can make obedience difficult. Yet Christ showed perfect obedience to the Father, even when it involved suffering. Believers are encouraged to trust God even when they do not understand every detail. Faithfulness begins in small and private decisions: speaking truth, forgiving others, resisting temptation, managing resources well and honouring commitments. When we fail, we should repent quickly, return to God and make obedience a daily way of life. Ask yourself: Is there an instruction from God’s Word that I have delayed or ignored? Let love for Christ move you beyond good intentions and into faithful action.
