Primate Ayodele Warns of Higher Fuel, Cement Prices If Nigeria Elects ‘Wrong’ Candidate in 2027
Primate Elijah Ayodele has warned that Nigeria could face deeper economic hardship after the 2027 elections if voters choose the wrong candidate. He predicted that petrol could rise to ₦2,500 per litre, diesel to ₦3,000, cement to ₦18,000 per bag and WAEC examination fees to ₦70,000. He also forecast higher electricity tariffs, worsening insecurity, lower foreign reserves and increased corruption. The cleric urged Nigerians to assess candidates and their policies carefully rather than vote in exchange for food items or cash. He said he would later reveal what he describes as God’s preferred candidate for the election.
