Fatal Night Attack in Ijagemo: Community Demands Justice
A brutal killing has rocked the Ijagemo community in Lagos. Charles Chimezie Nwachukwu was assaulted in his shop by a group armed with planks and stones. He was taken to several hospitals but died in a vehicle en route to emergency care. Local leaders Dr Anthony Ukachukwu and Eze CC Nwokedi confirmed signs of violence at the scene. Three suspects, including a serving police officer, are now in custody. Authorities have urged calm and vowed a thorough probe. The victim’s widow, Mrs Blessing Nwachukwu, insists the attack stemmed from a land dispute. She accuses a community chief and his associates of orchestrating the assault. She is appealing for justice and protection for her six children. Over 300 friends and relatives have joined the demand for accountability. The Lagos State Police Command has opened an investigation and promises regular updates.
