Questions Raised Over California Medicaid Billings Linked to Nigerian Chief
A report has raised questions about California Home Health Agency, a company linked to Chief Nathan Ogbatue of Abatete, Anambra State. The company reportedly received more than $34 million in Medicaid payments between 2022 and 2024 after earning far less in earlier years. The report says the sharp rise in revenue coincided with property purchases worth more than $7 million by Ogbatue and his wife in California. It also notes that the agency allegedly failed to submit mandatory utilisation reports to a California health agency after 2019. Ogbatue denied wrongdoing and said his wealth came from hard work. The report found no public fraud charge or official finding against him, but cited healthcare experts who said the billing pattern warranted scrutiny.
