Wike: PDP Must Rebuild and Strengthen Structures to Win 2027 Presidency
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says the Peoples Democratic Party faces an uphill battle in 2027 without fixing its internal crises and strengthening grassroots structures. Speaking at a media chat, he warned that democracy in Nigeria should not be defined only by the participation of high-profile candidates like Atiku or Peter Obi. He argued parties must have solid ward and state networks across all 36 states before aiming for the presidency. Wike also dismissed claims that he was acting as an APC agent. He stressed that the PDP needs to resolve its lingering disputes, prove its strength at the state level, then prepare for a credible national campaign. I think the PDP made a terrible mistake by not zoning the presidential ticket to Wike.
