Sophia Momodu Speaks on Stigma, Motherhood and Finding Her Voice

Sophia Momodu has spoken about the stigma she faced after becoming pregnant outside marriage as the daughter of a pastor. She said public judgement and the attention around her relationship with Davido made it difficult to feel heard. Speaking at a panel in New York, Momodu said she was mocked and felt that expectations around faith, family and womanhood intensified the experience. She later chose to share her story publicly and said many women approached her with similar experiences. Momodu said those conversations helped her realise she was not alone. She has also spoken previously about postpartum depression and her advocacy for women and children.
