John McGinn Targets Three Points as Aston Villa Prepare for Barcelona Showdown

Aston Villa captain John McGinn says his team are aiming for a win when they face Barcelona at Camp Nou on Tuesday. He says the club’s progress under Unai Emery has revived his childhood dream of competing on football’s biggest stages, but Villa will only fully enjoy the occasion if they take all three points. Villa head into the match with three wins from their opening Champions League fixtures and sit second in the league phase standings, behind Paris Saint-Germain. McGinn described the clash as a major opportunity for the club to test itself against Europe’s best. Barcelona are eighth after losing 4–2 to PSG and have also been beaten by Real Madrid in recent weeks. McGinn said he respects both their individual quality and their work rate as a team.
