Troops Nab Kidnap Kingpin Behind Abduction and Murder of Plateau Fulani Leader
Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have arrested a suspected kidnapping boss, 25-year-old Anas Usman, in connection with the abduction and killing of Alhaji Lawal Abubakar Wakili, a Fulani community leader in Kekong, Gashish District of Barkin Ladi LGA, Plateau State. The arrest occurred at about 6:00 p.m. on May 8, 2026, during a coordinated operation by Sector 7 in Sanga with support from 4 Special Forces in Akwanga. Usman is now in custody and undergoing interrogation as security forces work to dismantle other cells linked to recent kidnapping activities in the area.
