Ogun Police Arrest 16 Over Alleged Diesel Bunkering, Defilement and Vandalism
The Ogun State Police Command says it arrested 16 suspects in separate operations targeting alleged illegal diesel dealing, defilement, vandalism, burglary, theft and receiving stolen property under Operation Kosaye. Police recovered four drums and 13 jerry cans of suspected diesel, a pumping machine and a generator from an alleged illegal bunkering site in Sango. Officers also recovered vehicles, a stolen motorcycle, telecommunications cables and other items linked to burglary and theft cases. A 50-year-old suspect was arrested over the alleged defilement of an 11-year-old girl, while two suspects accused of vandalising telecommunications mast cables have been charged to court. Investigations are continuing in several of the cases, including efforts to arrest fleeing suspects and recover outstanding property. The command urged Ogun residents to provide credible information to support crime prevention and the protection of public infrastructure.
