Tragedy on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway: Vehicle Falls Off Eruku Bridge, 11 Dead

The Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun reports that 11 people lost their lives when a gold Toyota somersaulted and plunged off Eruku bridge on the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway. Rescue teams from the Itori Unit and local volunteers had to dismantle the vehicle to recover all victims, comprising ten men and one woman. The bodies were taken to the State Specialist Hospital morgue in Ifo. Authorities suspect driving under the influence and overloading as causes. Motorists are urged to drive cautiously, especially on night journeys along this route.
