Ogun Enacts Education and Skills Trust Fund Law to Support Schools and Vocational Training
Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has signed the Education and Skills Trust Fund Bill into law, creating a legal framework for sustainable funding of education and skills development across the state. The fund will support school infrastructure, bursaries, teacher development and maintenance, while providing financing beyond the state’s regular education budget. It will cover formal and informal education, with a focus on vocational training and skills acquisition. The new law also seeks to strengthen the traditional apprenticeship system and integrate it into the state’s education structure. Officials said more than 9,000 young people have already benefited from vocational training programmes in Ogun State.
