Police Search for Children Allegedly Taken by New Tenant in Akwa Ibom
Police in Akwa Ibom have begun an investigation after a woman allegedly left her children with a relatively new co-tenant in Etim Ekpo LGA, who later disappeared with them. The state police spokesperson said officers are working to establish the circumstances of the case, locate the children and apprehend anyone found responsible. The Commissioner of Police urged landlords and agents to verify prospective tenants’ identities, contact details, previous addresses and guarantors. Parents and guardians were also advised to be careful when leaving children with people they do not know well. Members of the public with credible information about the children or the suspect have been asked to notify the nearest police station.
