Kano Council Seizes 5,964 Expired Soft Drinks at Singer Market
The Kano State Consumer Protection Council seized 5,964 bottles of expired soft drinks allegedly stocked for sale at Singer Market. The action followed a complaint about a trader keeping the products for sale, and council officers removed them before they could reach customers. Council officials said they would continue inspecting markets, shops and supermarkets across the state to remove expired or substandard goods. They urged traders to check their stock regularly and warned against altering expiry dates or intimidating enforcement officers. The council said the inspections are intended to protect residents from unsafe products and encouraged traders to cooperate with enforcement teams.
