Tansian University VC Returns, Reinstates Affected Staff and Students Amid NUC Intervention
Prof. Eugene Okoye Nwadialor has returned to Tansian University, Umunya, after he was reportedly locked out during an ongoing leadership dispute. The National Universities Commission's database lists him as the institution's Vice-Chancellor. On resuming, Nwadialor ordered the reinstatement of staff whose appointments were terminated during the dispute. He also directed that suspended students be restored, that levies linked to their suspensions be refunded, and that the university's accounts undergo an immediate audit. The NUC had earlier cited governance and ownership concerns at the university. It suspended new student placements through JAMB, halted the processing of new programmes, and directed the reversal of student suspensions connected to disturbances at the Oba campus pending the conclusion of investigations.
