Peter Obi’s Repeated Hostile Encounters with State Governors and APC Supporters

Several recent incidents suggest Peter Obi has been blocked or threatened by state governors and party supporters without federal intervention. The Benue governor reportedly barred him from entering the state. In Edo, the governor publicly warned him, and the same state saw actual physical interference with his visit. An APC supporter also threatened him ahead of a Rivers State trip. Most recently, his vehicle was allegedly tampered with at the airport. These patterns have fueled fears that he may be under targeted surveillance or intimidation. As a citizen with no criminal convictions, his right to safe and free movement should be protected. The authorities must act to safeguard all Nigerians regardless of political affiliation.
