Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente insists his side can overcome France in Wednesday’s World Cup semi-final in Dallas. He drew confidence from Spain’s 2-1 quarter-final win over Belgium and their recent victories over France in major tournaments. “Expectations are high,” he said. “We respect our opponent, but we’re fully capable of winning. I trust in my players and our potential.” De la Fuente cited Spain’s success against France in last year’s Nations League and Euro 2024 semi-final as proof of their ability to compete. Rising star Lamine Yamal added: “We’re not afraid. This is the final before the final. The game will demand our best version and we’ll leave everything on the pitch.”
