My Concerns About Pastor Kumuyi’s Interfaith Engagements

I am deeply concerned by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi’s recent engagements with Muslim clerics and other religious leaders. To me, these meetings raise serious questions about whether Christian doctrine is being softened in the name of interfaith unity. For decades, many Deeper Life members were taught to uphold strict standards of holiness and the exclusive message of salvation through Jesus Christ. I believe it is reasonable for members to ask how that teaching aligns with public platforms shared with leaders whose beliefs differ fundamentally on the identity, death and resurrection of Jesus. I am not opposed to peaceful coexistence or respectful dialogue. However, I believe Christians should not compromise their central convictions for acceptance or social harmony. Deeper Life members and other believers should examine the Scriptures personally rather than defend any religious leader without question.
