Non-Academic Staff Begin Indefinite Strike at Ondo State Universities

Non-Academic Staff Begin Indefinite Strike at Ondo State Universities

Non-academic staff unions in Ondo State-owned universities have begun an indefinite strike over the alleged failure to implement an agreement on increased subventions and allowances. The action affects SSANU, NASU and NAAT members at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko; Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa; and the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo. The unions said the strike followed the expiration of a 14-day ultimatum to the state government. They alleged that the August subventions were paid at the old rate despite a promised 60 per cent increase. They said the strike will continue until the Consolidated Non-Teaching Tools Allowance and related payments are implemented from January 2026.
