Two Herders Arraigned in Ekiti Over Alleged Unlawful Grazing
Two herders, Shehu Umaru, 40, and Muhammadu Riskua, 30, have been arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged unlawful grazing. The prosecutor said the men allegedly grazed cattle on an unauthorised farmland in Itapaji-Ekiti on August 11. The charge was brought under the Ekiti State Prohibition of Cattle and Other Ruminant Grazing Law, 2016. Both defendants pleaded not guilty. The court granted them bail of ₦50,000 each with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until September 14 for hearing.
