PDP Turaki Faction Rejects Allegations of Blocking Aspirants from Buying 2027 Nomination Forms

The Kabiru Turaki–led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party has dismissed reports that it blocked presidential hopefuls from purchasing nomination forms ahead of the party’s 2027 primary. In a statement on Thursday, spokesman Ini Ememobong said no party official prevented any qualified aspirant from obtaining or submitting forms before the deadline. He explained that the only change was an adjustment to the timetable after appeals from members seeking more time. The final date for form purchase and submission is now Friday, May 22, 2026. A special screening exercise for aspirants who missed the initial slots is scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026, under the revised plan.
