Man United Linked With Antonio Conte, but INEOS Back Michael Carrick
Manchester United have reportedly considered Antonio Conte as a possible replacement for Michael Carrick if results worsen. The Italian coach is currently without a club after leaving Napoli at the end of last season. Carrick became United’s permanent manager after guiding the club to Champions League qualification for the 2026/27 season. However, the team have taken four points from their opening four Premier League matches, despite winning their first Champions League fixture. Reports in the Italian media placed Conte high on a potential shortlist, but transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano says INEOS are not planning to sack Carrick. The club reportedly retain confidence that he can improve results in the coming weeks.
